COVID 19 (2019 Novel Coronavirus)

COVID -19 Patient Update

Dear Patients,                                                                                                                  Wednesday, April 8, 2020

As you are no doubt aware, the COVID-19 virus is having a significant impact on many communities around the country. Our leadership team, doctors, and staff have been closely monitoring the situation- including the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health organizations.

We have developed a proactive response plan that takes steps to ensure that we help protect the health and safety of our staff, patients, and customers. We want to update you on a few of these precautions:

We Remain Open to Serve You – Our practice promises to “provide the highest quality of patient care in our community.” We plan to remain open five days a week for your health care needs. Our hours remain the same, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are still open two Saturdays a month. Please check with our office to see which Saturday mornings we are open.  We are also providing Telehealth to our patients who can not come into the office. Please check your insurance to see if your plan covers for telehealth. We will be here to help with your health care needs.

Your Appointment – At this time, to ensure the safety for our practice and patients we are asking screening questions prior to your appointment. If you are sick and need to come into the office, we ask that you remain in your car and call us when you arrive.  When we are ready for you, we ask that you enter from the separate side door entrance and directly into a patient room. All the exam and care will be isolated to this exam room to limit contact with well visits occurring in the office. We will discharge you from this room directly to your car.  If you need to schedule an appointment, our staff is ready to assist and accommodate your health care needs.

Telemedicine – If you would like to convert your appointment to a telemedicine visit or if you would like to reschedule for a later date, please contact our office directly at 817-479-1181. Please check with your insurance to see if telehealth is part of your insurance plan. If you confirm you would like to proceed with your telemedicine appointment, our staff will advise if a copay is due and collect. You will then be informed of your appointment time and encouraged to have an open time frame of 30 min prior and 30 min after your appointment time in the event the provider falls behind on their schedule. There are several platforms that we are using for telehealth.

If you have an Apple product, we can contact you through Facetime. We also have HIPAA compliant secure telehealth audio-video system through Zoom. When we schedule you for the secure telehealth we will need to use an email address. When you get the email please follow the prompts which will direct you to download the Zoom app onto your phone or computer. Our office will call prior to your appointment to make sure you have everything set up.  At the time of your appointment please click on “Enter meeting”. The doctor will call you and the appointment will begin through a video conference.

Injections and Routine Labs – Our office will be open to provide our patients with their routine lab services. If you have a fever or are sick, please do not expose others, stay home, and let us know that you need to reschedule.

Screening – Our office staff will continue to ask every patient who calls a series of COVID-19 questions. We ask for your patience and cooperation during this difficult time. Screening questions are similar to the questions below and are subject to change.

  • Exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • Recently traveled out of the country to a high-risk country (country list updated daily on the CDC website).

  • Recently traveled on a bus, cruise ship, air travel, major international airport, or train and have a cough, fever, or shortness of breath.

  • Already examined by a local emergency room department or urgent care facility and advised to quarantine for 14 days as instructed by the CDC.

Thank you for your trust in us during these challenging times.
